278 new infections with the Corona virus in northwest Syria, and the second batch of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine reaches the region

Yesterday, Tuesday, northwestern Syria recorded 278 new cases of the emerging coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 28,407 since the virus began spreading.

According to the report issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning Network, 278 cases of coronavirus were recorded yesterday, after 1113 new analyzes were conducted, while the number of people recovered reached 42, 8 of them in Idlib governorate, and 34 in the “Olive Branch” and “Euphrates Shield” areas.“, bringing the number to 23,548 cases of recovery.

The infections were distributed among the cities and towns of Idlib governorate, so that the governorate recorded 228 infections, including 109 infections in the city of Harem and 79 in the city of Idlib, while the cities and towns of the northern and eastern Aleppo countryside recorded 59 infections, 28 of them in the city of Afrin and 9 infections in the city of Jarablus.

While no deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, the number of deaths remains 734 since the virus began spreading in northwest Syria, according to the epidemiological surveillance laboratory.

And the past days have recorded the registration of several cases of the new mutant of the Corona virus “Delta”, which is the mutated mutation of the virus that is characterized by its rapid spread, unlike “Alpha”, according to the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory.

The Idlib Health Directorate stated, through its official identifiers on social media, that the second batch of Corona vaccines has arrived in the region, and that the second vaccination campaign against the virus will begin in the coming days.
It is noteworthy that the number of cases that have been tested in northwestern Syria has reached 178,103 since the virus began spreading in northwestern Syria.
