Suleyman Soylu: We will restore safety to Damascus city

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Saturday “we will be strong and great that even we will restore safety to Syria, Damascus, the Iraqi city of Baghdad, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This statement came during a meeting of the Regional Advisory Council of the Justice and Development Party in the city of Kutahya, according to the Turkish news agency “TRT”.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a press conference on the sidelines of “the European Political Community” in the Czech capital Prague on last Thursday that he could meet with Bashar al-Assad at the right time and he did not rule out a possible meeting in the future.

The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously announced that Moscow keeps “very active” contacts in order to hold a diplomatic meeting between the Assad regime and Turkey.
