Draft resolution forces Biden to withdraw US troops from Syria
The New York Post said in a report that Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz put forward a draft resolution to the House of Representatives requiring U.S. President Joe Biden to withdraw his troops from Syrian territory.
According to the report, nearly 900 American soldiers were in Syria, stationed in strategic areas.
The representative said: “Until today, Congress has not approved the continued stay of American forces in Syria,”
In 2014, the US forces began military operations in Syria against ISIS, and in 2019, former US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of part of the forces deployed in Syria.
