Putin’s envoy to Syria reveals date for the quadripartite meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Iran and the Assad regime

Putin’s special envoy to Syria, Aleksander Yevimov, announced yesterday evening that the quadripartite meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Iran and the Assad regime would be postponed until next month.

“The meeting scheduled for Monday in Moscow has been postponed until early next month,” Yvimov said, according to al-Watan, a newspaper loyal to the Assad regime.

Putin’s envoy explained that the normalization of relations between the Turkish government and the Assad regime is time-consuming, while noting that differences and files cannot be considered in one or more rounds of negotiations.

Yvimov stressed his country’s continued support for the holding of a quadripartite meeting in Moscow among the foreign ministers of the four States.

The Russian diplomat predicted positive results for the quadripartite meeting, stressing that the path of normalization was progressing step by step.

In a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, it explained that at the two-day meetings, MPs discussed preparations for the next meeting between the foreign ministers of the four countries.
