The Syrian Interim Government: Coordination with the Assad regime to deliver aid is a hostile step

The Syrian Interim Government issued a statement, saying that “the Assad regime issued a unilateral decision to authorize UN aid delivery through Bab al-Hawa crossing for six months only.”

The statement added that “through the full cooperation and coordination with the Assad regime, it controls the humanitarian aid according to its interests and supporting its war machine against the Syrians.”

The statement considered Assad regime’s decision as a hostile step to hinder humanitarian assistance for millions of Syrians in northwest Syria, pointing out to Assad regime ongoing hostility through shelling the cities and markets.

The Syrian Interim Government emphasized the importance of not politicizing the humanitarian aid file, and it completely rejected this attempt.

The Syrian Interim Government called on through its statement the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities towards the Syrians in northern Syria, including the continuation of aid entry through the Bab al-Hawa, Bab al-Salamah, and al-Rai crossings.

The statement came as a comment on the failure of the UN Security Council to extend humanitarian aid delivery into Syria through the border crossings.
