The “Syrian Dialogue Center” warns of turning the racist campaigns against Syrians in Turkey into political campaigns

The “Syrian Dialogue Center” warns of developing “the racist campaigns” directed against the Syrians refugees in Turkey on social media to campaigns affecting Turkey’s policies.

The “Syrian Dialogue Center” released a report on Wednesday, confirming that the directed campaigns against Syrians developed to become against the Arabs in general.

According to the statement, “This will affect the image of the Turkish state as a state of law and institutions, and threaten the tourism sector in Turkey, in addition to deteriorating the Arab investment in it.”

The “Syrian Dialogue Center” considered that the Turkish campaign against the refugees was “the most controversial” because it coincided with racist speeches against the Syrians and the Arab in particular.

The Center emphasized that “these organized campaigns are a source of concern for many Arab communities.”

The Center pointed out that the Arab media’s intensification of these campaigns is a “soft tool of coercion” against Turkey to ease the campaign, especially against the Syrian refugees.

Deportations of Syrian refugees from Turkey to northern Syria have escalated during the past weeks, bringing the daily number of deportees to about 100, at a time the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his country will take additional steps to prevent irregular migration.

The Turkish authorities deport Syrians to northern Syria through 3 main border crossings, which are Bab al-Hawa, Bab al-Salamah, and Tal Abyad, and the number of deportees daily reaches about 100 people.
