“Save the Children” organization: Children in Syria need support more than ever

“Save the Children” organization confirmed that the children in Syria need support more than ever due to deteriorating humanitarian situation.

Syria Response Director for Save the Children organization, Rasha Muhrez, said that “the need to provide humanitarian support for children is larger than it has been before.”

Muhrez emphasized the need for sustainable aid access into Syria from all the actors supported by the international community with the aim of improving the current situation and building a better future.

Muhrez stressed the need for local actors to provide aid and consultation, in addition to provide the necessary fund to meet the increasing needs and ensure a useful role for those actors.

Muhrez underlined the role of “Save the Children” organization to provide support and care for children in Syria and around the world by giving a healthy start, learning opportunities, and protection from harm.

Muhrez affirmed that the organization is committed to achieve this vision through its results, fiscal data, and charity ratings.

It is noteworthy that the Assad regime announced its approval on August 6 to keep Bab al-Salama and al-Rai crossings, to the northwest Syria, open for three months, to increase the flow of aid to devastating earthquake’s victims.

The United Nations released a statement confirming that it had reached an “understanding” with the Assad regime to extend cross-border aid delivery into northwestern Syria after Assad regime’s approval.
