Iranian foreign minister: The work of military advisors will continue in Syria

Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, said in a post on “X” platform: “The work of military advisors will vigorously continue in Syria to fight terrorism and ensure the safety of the region.”

Abdollahian’s remarks came after 5 Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) advisors were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Damascus.

Abdollahian claimed that the Israeli government is the main accomplice to the terrorist movements and the prime enemy of the regional security.

Abdollahian added: “undoubtedly defeating the Zionists against the will of the people of Gaza can’t be compensated by such cowardly terrorist acts.”

Iran’s president, Ibrahim Raeisi, said in a statement on January 20, 2024, that the Israeli attack which killed 5 Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) advisors in Damascus will not go unpunished.

Raeisi described the Israeli attack as a “terrorist action” and considered it as showing the height of Israel’s desperation against the resistance front, according to Anadolu agency.”

Iran announced on January 20, 2024, the killing of five Iranian militia Revolutionary Guards members as a result of missile attack on a residential building in Damascus, accusing Israel of being behind the assassination.
