Turkey sends 5 trucks carrying humanitarian aid to northern Syria

The municipality of the Turkish city of “Bagcilar” said, in a statement, yesterday, Wednesday, that it had sent 5 trucks carrying humanitarian aid to needy people in the liberated north of Syria.

According to the “Anatolia Agency”, the statement added, “The municipality and other institutions prepared 5 aid trucks that they collected as part of the campaign, including basic supplies (mattresses, blankets, clothes and hygiene materials).”

He explained that the municipality launched an aid collection campaign with the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Organization (İHH), the “Qaem Maqam” office, and the District Security Directorate, for the benefit of needy Syrians in Idlib.

The aforementioned camps suffer from a lack of infrastructure, as well as turning into puddles of mud during the winter season, as the tents begin to leak rainwater after their fabrics are worn out due to the summer heat.

It is noteworthy that the suffering of the displaced has increased recently, due to the heavy rains that fell in the northern countryside of Idlib, which resulted in damage to a number of displaced persons’ tents, including “Al-Kanju, Kafr Aruq, Al-Bash and others north of the city.”
