A joint report reveals the economic cost after ten years of war in Syria

A report by the World Vision Organization and Frontier Economics for the development of economic results (the largest independent economic consulting firm in Europe) revealed, in a joint report, that the economic cost of the war in Syria after 10 years is estimated at more than $ 1.2 trillion.

The report was titled “A Very High Price: The Cost of Conflict for the Children of Syria,” and pointed out that “the results indicate that an entire generation has been lost in this conflict, and children will bear the cost through the loss of education and health, which will prevent many from helping the country’s recovery and economic growth.” Once the war is over ”.

The report added, “Even if the war ends today, its cost will continue to accumulate to reach an additional 1.7 trillion dollars in the value of the currency today and until 2035.” He stated that “the economic results of the report are accompanied by a survey carried out by World Vision of nearly 400 Syrian children, girls, boys and girls in Syria. Syria, Lebanon and Jordan reveal the enormous human toll of the conflict.


The report stated that “the conflict in Syria is one of the most bloody conflicts for children and the most devastating, as it reduces the life expectancy of children by 13 years.”

It pointed out that “an estimated 82% of children who were recruited by armed actors were used in direct combat roles, and 25% of them were under the age of 15 years. An estimated 55,000 children have been killed since the conflict began, some by summary execution or torture.
