Haaretz reveals Russia’s use of Israeli aircraft to bomb the Syrians

The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” said in a report that Russia introduced an Israeli-designed and licensed “Forbpost” plane to Syria five years ago, highlighting what it called “the role that Israeli technology played in the Russian bombing campaign in defense of the Assad regime.”

The newspaper pointed out, that Russia began using aircraft licensed by Israel for the first time from the air force bases of the Assad regime to pursue its opponents, shortly after its intervention in Syria in 2015, confirming its participation in the “illegal targeting of civilian infrastructure.”

The newspaper added, “After more than half a decade, a clearer picture emerged of the pivotal role played by the Russian version of the (Searcher 2) or (Forpost) aircraft, affiliated with the Israel Aerospace Industries, in saving the Assad regime, which was on the verge of collapse.

It pointed out that the Russian army boasted of the Israeli plane as “one of its most important technological weapons, which has a permanent presence in the Syrian sky,” as the targets are precisely determined, making the pilots not forced to risk their lives in conducting reconnaissance flights.

The newspaper emphasized that the detailed analysis of the video clips taken by “Forpost”, which are available on the Internet, “reveals its criminal involvement in facilitating the killing of civilians in Syria,” stressing that the plane that provided the Russian army with spy information when carrying out military operations against civilians is in violation of international law.

Two years ago, Izvestia newspaper reported that “Forpost R” planes are now used in Syria to search for targets to be struck and explore the results of missile strikes on the ground, and a “Forpost Air” was designated for the purpose of reconnaissance and intelligence, and its specialization is indicated by the letter “IR”.

It can be used for this purpose at any time of the day and night, and it can also be used to bomb enemy forces ’sites with bombs and missiles carried by the plane or direct other missiles such as” Iskander “and Kalibr” to their targets.

The “Forpost Air” plane has a range of 250 kilometers, and it can fly at a speed of more than 200 kilometers per hour, and its flight can last within 17 hours, and it weighs more than 450 kilograms.
