Response Coordinators: 1,369 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in northern Syria since the beginning of August

Today, Monday, the Syria Response Coordination Group announced the distribution of high rates of infections recorded with Corona virus in northwest Syria during the period between August 1 and August 15, 2021, amounting to 1,369 cases.

The Group stated that the number of cases within the camps amounted to 136 infections, and among medical personnel 39 infections as for the areas that recorded a high rate of infections, 492 in Harem, 338 in Afrin, 222 in Idlib, 89 in Ariha, and 64 in Azaz.

The Group stressed that it is very necessary to adhere to preventive measures and intensify efforts in order to ensure adherence to precautionary measures, especially in areas experiencing an increase in the number of infections.

The Group indicated a significant increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection during the past few days, and called on the civilian population in the area to receive the coronavirus vaccine, to contribute to reducing the number of infections during the next stage.

The Group appealed to the international bodies to work to secure successive batches of vaccines faster, to ensure the acceleration of vaccination operations in northwestern Syria.

Previously, the various Syrian regions recorded 455 cases of infection and 9 new deaths from “Corona”, distributed by 357 cases in northern Syria, and 50 in the Assad regime’s areas, in addition to 48 infections in the areas of the Syrian Democratic Forces in northeastern Syria.
