Movement stopped at Nassib crossing after a diesel tanker on the Jordanian side burned down

Today, Sunday, Jordanian media reported news of the closure of Nassib-Jaber border crossing with Syria, after a diesel tanker was burned on the international highway leading to the crossing from the Jordanian side.

According to the Jordanian radio “Hala”, the Jordanian foreign patrol operations officer, First Lieutenant Abdullah Al-Muhaidat, said that the accident occurred before the “Al-Obeid” security station, and the driver sustained slight bruises.

The Jordanian Ministry of Interior had previously announced last July that the full operation of the Jaber-Naseeb border crossing with Syria began in early August.

The ministry confirmed that the new procedures will include canceling the “BACK TO BACK” system for goods and passengers, so that Syrian trucks will be able to continue their way to the Gulf countries, after they were forced to unload their cargo with trucks from inside Jordan and complete their way without the driver entering its territory. .

The border crossing with Jordan witnessed several closures, the latest of which was the Jordanian Ministry of Interior’s announcement of the closure of the “Jaber-Nassib” border crossing with Syria against the backdrop of security developments in Daraa.
