One death and 849 cases of COVID-19 were registered yesterday in northwestern Syria

Yesterday, Monday, northwestern Syria recorded 849 new cases of the emerging coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 31,453 since the virus began spreading.

According to the report issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning Network, 849 cases of coronavirus were recorded yesterday, after 2090 new analyzes were conducted, while the number of people recovered reached 38, 14 of them in Idlib governorate, and 25 in the “Olive Branch” and “Euphrates Shield” areas, bringing the number to 23,806 recovery cases.

The infections were distributed among the cities and towns of Idlib governorate, so that the governorate recorded 645 new cases in a high curve for the number of infections during the current month, including 382 cases in Harem region and 176 in the city of Idlib, while the cities and towns of the northern and eastern Aleppo countryside recorded 204 infections, 108 of them in the city of Afrin and 29 cases in Jarablus city.

The observatory indicated that 18 cases were recorded for health sector workers (including 5 doctors, nurses and 2 midwives), while 13 cases were admitted to hospitals, one of which received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, noting that 78 cases were registered for the displaced within the camps in northwestern Syria.

In the past 24 hours, one death was recorded, bringing the number of deaths to 746, since the virus began spreading in northwest Syria, according to the epidemiological surveillance laboratory.

The past days have recorded several cases of the new mutation of Corona virus “Delta”, which is the mutated mutation of the virus that is characterized by its rapid spread, unlike “Alpha”, according to the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory.

For its part, the Syria Vaccine Team said that the second campaign of vaccination campaigns against the Corona virus was launched last Saturday morning, and the campaign will target humanitarian workers, chronic disease owners of all ages, the elderly, and workers in public affairs.
