Joey Hood: Our mission in Syria is not to change the Assad regime

The US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Joe Hood, said in an interview on Al-Hurra channel that the US forces are in Syria with a clear goal, which is to fight the Islamic State, not to change or fight the Assad regime.

Hood added that the US efforts are aimed at changing the behavior of the Assad regime only with the aim of allowing the entry of humanitarian aid and maintaining the ceasefire lines.
