5 deaths and 276 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in northwest Syria

The Early Warning Network recorded in its latest statistics on October 2, 2021, 276 new cases of coronavirus in northwest Syria, bringing the total number of infections to 74750 cases.


According to the report issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning Network 276 new cases of coronavirus were recorded, after conducting 466 new analyses , while the recovery cases increased to 39,393 cases after 868 cases of recovery were recorded.


According to the observatory, the number of coronavirus-related deaths rose to 1,260, after five new deaths were recorded.


The network announced that it recorded a significant increase in the incidence and positivity rate, which it estimated at (59.22%) in the northern Syrian regions.


This indicated a significant increase in the incidence and positivity rate, mainly in Idlib governorate, due to the decrease in the number of tests due to the shortage of laboratory materials and the increase in the occupancy rate in hospitals, especially in intensive care units, and the vaccine coverage rate in northwest Syria is still low.
