Iran announces its readiness to host the upcoming “Astana” summit on Syria
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced through his meeting with Assad’s Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad on Monday, that Tehran is ready to host leaders of the Astana Summit dubbed ‘Astana Peace Process’ in 2022.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to Astana Summit as the only effective current structure for resolving problems imposed on Syria.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that cooperation between Russia and Iran in Syria is good, not only in Syria but at all levels.
He pointed out that there is good cooperation between Iran and Russia on Syria, whether in the Astana track or in the tripartite frameworks between the three countries.
