Newspaper: The Turkish military operation is expected to be launched in northern Syria within days

The Turkish newspaper “Hurriyet” expected the start of the upcoming military operation against Syrian Democratic Forces in northern Aleppo within days due to the developments in the region as completing the preparations and state of readiness.

The newspaper based its expectations on information reported by its correspondents in northern Syria, who confirmed the continuation of Turkish military convoys flow and viewed the deployment of Turkish combat units near the frontlines of “Manbij” and “Tal Rifaat” countryside.

The newspaper said: “It is likely that the expected military operation will be launched this week against the Syrian Democratic Forces because Turkish combat forces were seen on the dividing lines between the national army-held areas and the Syrian Democratic Forces-held areas.”

The newspaper explained in a previous report that the Turkish-Syrian preparations for the planned operation in the “Ain Issa” area, north of Raqqa, had halted after previous negotiations with Russia, which refused that operation due to the passing of the M4 international road from the area, as it sent new military reinforcements to it. .

Taking over the cities of “Manbij” and “Tal Rifaat” will enable the return of nearly half a million Syrians to their homes, as the Turkish government assumed.

The Turkish and national armies continue artillery and missile bombardment operations against the areas of  Syrian Democratic Forces’ deployment in northwest and northeast of Syria, and the Turkish drones continue their airstrikes targeting leaders and sites of the latter.

The Turkish Defense Minister confirmed a few days ago, his country’s determination to do what is necessary against terrorist threats coming from northern Syria, indicating the readiness of the Turkish forces for any new movement if the political administration requested it.
