Erdogan:  NATO is not an organization to ensure security for terrorist organizations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during  his speech at the Justice and Development Party’s consultation meeting, yesterday, that “NATO is not an organization that will provide terrorist security.”

He clarified, “I said it clearly and frankly, and I confirmed this to the NATO Secretary-General Jens Stolenberg through a phone call on Friday, that NATO is not an organization to ensure security for terrorist organizations.

Erdogan stressed, “Turkey cannot repeat the mistake it made in the past when it accepted Greece’s return to the NATO, he pointed out that Greece embraced members of terrorist organizations.

He added that members of Kurdistan’s Workers Party(PKK) are running around in Sweden and Finland, while they are carrying posters of their leader.

He pointed out that “the followers of the organization organize their demonstrations against the Turkish state under the protection of the police forces in countries such as Sweden, Finland, Germany, France and the Netherlands.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that “his country’s approval for Sweden and Finland to join the NATO depends on the extent to which these two countries take into account Turkey’s security concerns.”
