Erdogan: The decision to establish a safe zone in Syria is still exist

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that the decision to establish a 30-kilometre-deep safe zone along the Syrian-Turkish border is permanent, according to Anadolu Agency.

He added to his statements during his address at the 13th Turkish Ambassadors Conference in the capital Ankara yesterday that Ankara is determined to link the safe areas in northern Syria.

He pointed out that his country’s forces will unify the rings of the security belt by controlling other areas in Syria where the Syrian Democratic Forces are exist, which Turkey classified them as a “terrorist organization.”  

It is noteworthy that the Turkish President stressed during the tripartite summit between the presidents of the guarantor states of the Astana process (Turkey, Russia and Iran), which was held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, that his country is determined to eradicate the hotbeds of terrorism in Syria. He also added that his country is waiting for support from Russia and Iran to confront the security concerns that Ankara faces on the southern border with Syria.
