France arrests a Syrian man on suspicion of supplying Assad regime with components to manufacture chemical weapons

AFP reported that the French authorities arrested a Frenchman of Syrian origin, suspected of having links with the “chemical weapons” of the Assad regime, and accusing him of complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The agency added, “The authorities in Paris have accused the French-Syrian with complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes, and he was arrested on suspicion of supplying Damascus with components to manufacture chemical weapons used in Syria

The agency explained that the accused was born in 1962 and resides abroad, and was arrested in southern France, noting that at the end of his of police custody he was placed in pretrial detention.

The Assad regime has repeatedly bombed with chemical weapons many densely populated areas in Syria, killing dozens of civilians and injuring others.
