Global Health denies the existence of details of the arrival of a second batch of Corona vaccine to Syria

The representative of the World Health Organization in Syria, Akjmal Maktimova, denied the existence of clear details about the arrival of a second batch of Corona virus vaccines to Syria, noting that more than 256 thousand “AstraZeneca” vaccines arrived in the country during the first batch.

“It depends on many factors, including the availability of the vaccine in the global market and manufacturing capacity, in addition to the ability to purchase it and finance its shipment and delivery, through the (Kovax) facility,” Makhtimova said.

It is noteworthy that the representative of the International Organization confirmed the targeting of vaccinating 190,000 health workers and more than 485,000 elderly people, while the second phase targets 1.5 million people from the rest of the elderly, 1.13 million people suffering from chronic diseases, 300,000 school teachers and 858
