Israeli missiles target sites of the Assad regime forces in Damascus
The Israeli army launched a series of missile attacks, today, Thursday, targeting military sites of the Assad regime in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus, after a missile fell in the Negev region in southern Israel, where the Israeli nuclear reactor is located.
“The Israeli army detected the launch of a surface-to-air missile from inside Syria towards Israeli territory that landed in the Negev region,” said the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei.
He added, “We attacked with air defense missiles and (surface-to-air) missile batteries of the Assad regime that were launched from Syria, in response to the hostile missile that fell in Israel.”
In turn, the Assad regime’s SANA news agency reported that the Israeli Air Force launched rounds of rockets at about 1:30 am, targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus.
It claimed, as usual, that the Assad regime forces dropped most of those missiles, but it said that 4 members had been wounded and some casualties.
The fall of the missile in the Negev region, where the Dimona reactor is located, indicates that it may be an Iranian message in response to the attack that targeted the Iranian “Natanz” reactor on April 11th.
