Macron: We will defend the Syrians through international law and fight impunity
French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the Syrians in a tweet on Twitter, Monday, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, saying, “To the Syrian people, I want to say: We will never give up this battle.”
Macron added, “Ten years ago, the Syrian people rose up peacefully for the sake of freedom and dignity. We will remain by their side to respond to their humanitarian needs.”
He continued, “We will defend the Syrian people through international law, fight impunity, and ultimately find a political solution, the only possible solution.”
French President “Emmanuel Macron” stressed the need to find a “political solution” in Syria, for what he called “the conflict that is still without a way out ten years after its outbreak.”
France had presented a document to representatives of European countries proposing to reject any Syrian presidential elections that do not take place according to International Resolution (2254), and to cut off the road to normalization with the Assad regime after the presidential elections scheduled for the end of next May.
