Mikhail Bogdanov: We do not exclude the communication between Putin, Assad and other leaders after the Tehran summit

RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov as saying that “we do not exclude the communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad, after Putin’s visit to Iran.”

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister explained that the contacts “are not only with Assad, but also with other leaders,” pointing out that “we are always pleased to make contacts with the Syrian leadership.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday, to participate in the tripartite summit with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, foremost of which is the Syrian file.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaan said last week that the Turkish and Russian presidents will visit Tehran this week, stressing that very good relations bind Tehran with both Ankara and Moscow.
