Russian strikes kill members of the National Army in Afrin city countryside

Today, Sunday, Russian warplanes targeted, with several air strikes, a camp belonging to the Syrian National Army in Brad village, near Afrin city, north of Aleppo.

Our correspondent said that the Russian warplanes targeted, with several air strikes, a camp of the National Army in Brad village in Jabal al-Ahlam in Afrin city countryside northeast Aleppo., killing four members of the National Army and wounding five others.

Russian warplanes also bombed this morning the towns of Al-Bara and Kansafra, south of Idlib, and no casualties have been reported.

This escalation comes after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he will meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on September 29 to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in Idlib province.

It is noteworthy that the Russian warplanes launched air raids yesterday on the vicinity of Basofan village and the Baslayha axis in Afrin northern countryside, in an unprecedented escalation in the region. Analysts considered it to be Russian messages to Turkey at this time that the escalation would not stop on the Idlib borders, but rather in the depth of the areas of Turkish influence.
