The coalition denies what is being circulated about forming a joint government with the Assad regime

The National Coalition confirmed in a statement today, Monday, that it did not listen to any proposal during the past international rounds regarding what is being circulated about forming a joint government with the Assad regime.

The coalition stressed that any decision that does not comply with international resolutions and the Geneva statement for a political solution will be categorically rejected.

The coalition clarified that, as a revolutionary political institution that believes in the values and principles of freedom, dignity, democracy and good governance and aspires to achieve them on the ground, we cannot be part of projects of this kind.

The coalition indicated its adherence to the principles of the revolution and that it will not be in any way supportive or partner in any initiative or proposal that tends to a path outside the resolutions of the UN Security Council.

The coalition noted that the political solution for the National Coalition is the implementation of Resolution 2254, including the establishment of a transitional governing body with full powers in which the Assad regime has no role, a new constitution and elections under the supervision of the United Nations.
