The National Coalition welcomes placing the Assad regime on the “black list” of child rights violators

The Syrian National Coalition welcomed the report issued by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, yesterday, Saturday, on countries and armed groups that violate the rights of children, especially the inclusion of the Assad regime forces and its militias in the “black list” of countries and organizations that violate children’s rights.

The coalition said in a statement yesterday that the reports that condemn the Assad regime with various types of crimes, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of torture, in addition to displacement and the use of chemical weapons, have become widespread.

The statement pointed out that there must be a UN action and holding the Assad regime accountable for the crimes it committed against its people, calling on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities towards the file of war crimes in Syria and work to transfer this file to the International Criminal Court.

Yesterday, Saturday, the United Nations issued a statement coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of “Sexual Violence” in Conflict Zones, in which it affirmed its “commitment to making preventing and responding to social violence a major humanitarian priority in Syria.”

The Syrian Network for Human Rights documented, “The Assad regime forced at least 11 female detainees, including girls under the age of 18, to appear on its screens to make confessions stating that they had “sex” with the opposition factions, and they were forcibly disappeared.”
