Zelensky announces the resumption of negotiations with Russia for the cease-fire

The Ukrainian presidency announced the resumption of negotiations with the Russian side today, Monday, aimed at a ceasefire, after suspending it for several days.

Ukrainian Presidential Office Adviser Mikhail Pododolyak, confirmed in a statement that great efforts and very intense work have been made in the sub-working groups, for the negotiations that will take place via video today.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that he is “ready for negotiation” with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.

“I’m ready for negotiations with putin. I was ready for the last two years. And I think that without negotiations we cannot end this war,” he told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

He added: “If there is a 1% chance to stop this war, I believe we have to take the opportunity. I can tell you about the outcome of negotiations in any case, we are losing people on a daily basis, innocent people on the ground”

He continued: ” “I think we have to use any formula, any opportunity in order to have the possibility of negotiation, but warned that if any negotiation attempts fail, it could mean the fight between the two countries would lead to “a third World War.”

Earlier, Russia and Ukraine held a third round of negotiations in Belarus, after which a new attempt was announced to launch the work of humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians from besieged Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv.
