Erdogan: We have run out of patience with threats in Syria, and we will take the necessary steps

The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his country has run out of patience after the continuous attacks targeting the Turkish forces in Syria and the Turkish territories.

Erdogan said: “The latest attack targeting the Turkish police in northern Syria will not go unpunished, in a reference to the attack which killed 2 special operations Turkish police officers in Mare’ city in Aleppo.”

Erdogan said that his country is determined to eliminate threats emanating from northern Syria, either itself or with the support of active local forces.

He indicated that his country will take what is necessary to eliminate the “terrorist” organizations, in reference to the Syrian Democratic Forces, which target the areas of concentration of Turkish forces in Syria.

The death toll from the attack that targeted Turkish policemen in the city of Mare’, north of Aleppo, on Monday, has climbed to two, according to what was announced by the Turkish Interior Minister.

The Interior Ministry stated in a statement yesterday evening, “The attack was launched from Tal Rifaat area, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, and targeted a Turkish armored vehicle in Operation Euphrates Shield area.”

The frequency of attacks targeting areas of Turkish influence in Syria is escalating, as a Turkish army soldier was killed last month as a result of an attack carried out by the Syrian Democratic Forces on the “Euphrates Shield” area, and two soldiers were killed and others were wounded in the same month, in an attack on their vehicle in the same area.
