The European Union: The continuous provision of aid to Greece is provided by halting its violations against migrants

On Monday, European Union countries called on Greece to establish a neutral and independent mechanism to monitor violations against migrants and prevent their interception when entering its territory, as a prerequisite for the continued flow of aid provided by the Additional Migration Fund to Greece.

And according to the “EURACTIV” news website, the European Union Commission has asked Athens to work quickly to establish the independent mechanism to ensure that violations against migrants are stopped.

The website indicated that if Greece complies with the European demand, it will receive aid worth 15.8 million euros, according to the Anatolia Agency.

Earlier in August, the European Border Protection Agency, responsible for the borders of the European Union, revealed that Greece had experimented with new high-precision monitoring equipment to detect migrant boats.

Greece had tested a balloon system equipped with cameras at Alexandroupolis airport near the Greek-Turkish land border in northeastern Greece, and on the island of Lemnos, with the aim of giving border officials a clearer view of the approaching boats, according to Reuters.
