Erdogan: Turkey’s position has not changed regarding Syria since the start of the war in it

On the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has not changed with regard to Syria since the start of the war in it.

Erdogan added that the Turkish people believe that the establishment of a political system capable of representing all Syrians is necessary to restore peace and stability again.

He expressed his pride in the steadfast Turkish position that has not changed since the start of the internal war in Syria, which is the stand against the bloody Assad regime.

The Turkish president pointed out that “the humanitarian situation in Syria will be the final measure of the sincerity of our positions, especially since the defense of human rights, freedoms and democracy has been in circulation lately.”

Erdogan stressed that a peaceful and lasting solution will only be possible with respect for Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity.

Erdogan stressed that the safe areas that Turkey has established with the local Syrian elements (Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch and Peace Spring) are evidence of our commitment to the future of Syria.

Erdogan called on Western countries to take a clear stand against the Syrian Democratic Forces, who attack safe areas and support the Assad regime.

The Turkish President urged the administration of US President Joe Biden to fulfill its promises and work with Turkey to end the tragedy in Syria, expressing his rejection of all plans that do not meet the basic demands of the Syrian people, because they will only deepen the crisis, he said.
