The second phase of Covid-19 vaccination is launched in northern Syria, targeting people with chronic diseases

On Monday morning, a vaccination campaign against Coronavirus was launched for people with chronic diseases in Idlib Governorate and its countryside.

The Directorate of Health, through its official identifiers in Idlib governorate, published a map of the distribution of the 19 vaccination centers, two of them within the city and the rest outside it.

Hossam kora Muhammad, the official in charge of the Corona file, said in a statement to Fresh yesterday, “The campaign targets people with chronic diseases from 18 years and above, and people with one, two or three diseases, who wish to receive the vaccine against Corona.

Kora Muhammad continued, “Patients are transferred from inpatient clinics to fixed vaccination centers, where there will be in each fixed vaccination center a vaccine team affiliated with the Syria Vaccine Team and the Idlib Health Directorate specialized in giving the Corona vaccine to patients.”

The campaign coincides with the high number of HIV infections in the liberated north, where health revealed 185 new infections, including 87 in Idlib city yesterday, Sunday, bringing the total to 24,165 cases.

The Corona vaccine campaign was launched on the first of last May, targeting medical and relief cadres and medical personnel from local organizations through the Syria Vaccine Team.
