Wide popular discontent among the loyalists after the Assad regime raised fuel and bread prices

The Assad regime issued a decision to raise the prices of diesel and bread for all public and private sectors, starting from this morning, Sunday, in a message to the Syrians that Bashar al-Assad has begun implementing his electoral slogan, “Hope with work.”

The decision was issued to amend the prices of a liter of diesel to 500 Syrian pounds per liter, and for all public and private sectors, including the Syrian Corporation for Bakeries and private sector bakeries.

The decision also included an increase in the price of bread, as the price of one bundle (about 1100 grams, or 7 loaves) wrapped in a nylon bag became 200 Syrian pounds.

It should be noted that the price of a bundle of bread before this rise was 100 Syrian pounds, an increase of 100%, while the price of a liter of diesel oil was only 180 Syrian pounds, an increase of 270%.
