More than 1500 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the liberated areas in Syria

The various Syrian regions have registered 1760 cases of Covid-19 and 8 new deaths, 1302 cases were distributed in northern Syria, and 120 cases in Assad regime controlled-areas, and 133 cases in Syrian Democratic Forces-held areas in northeastern Syria

The “Early Warning and Response Network EWARN” said that it recorded a significant increase in the positivity rate, which it estimated at (46.11%) in the northern Syrian regions.

It pointed out that 4 new deaths were reported during the past 24 hours, 10 cases were from health workers, including a pharmacist and 6 nurses, and 3 cases were admitted to the hospital (unvaccinated).

It stated that among the infections are 177 cases of displaced people inside the camps, and indicated that the classification of previous deaths asrelated to Covid 19 disease has been increased by the Health Information System Unit.

Thus, the death toll in northern Syria reached 7.82, and the total cases that were tested yesterday are 3,934, which brings the number of analyzes to 213,978 tests in northern Syria.

The network announced the registration of 1,507 new infections throughout the liberated areas in northwestern Syria, bringing the total number of cases to 43,219 and the number of recovery cases to 25,229, after 193 new cases of recovery were recorded.

In addition, the Spring of Peace regions recorded 154 new cases, which raised the total number to 4,753 and the death toll remained at 40 cases, with no new deaths recorded.

The specialized teams of the Syrian Civil Defense transferred yesterday, Saturday, the bodies of 7 deaths from hospitals related to Corona virus in northwestern Syria and buried them according to precautionary measures.

It also transferred more than 40 cases or suspected of being infected to hospitals and quarantine centers, in parallel with the continuation of sterilization and awareness-raising operations.

The families warned civilians to take the vaccine and follow the instructions to prevent infection with the Corona virus (wearing a mask, social distancing, and sterilizing hands constantly), according to a statement issued by the White Helmets.

Warnings are mounting about the repercussions of the outbreak of the pandemic in northern Syria, given the overcrowding in the region, especially in displacement camps.
