US Defense: We will remain 900 U.S. troops to work in Syria

The spokeswoman of US Defense Department, Naval Commander Jessica McNulty, has declared that the United States will keep 900 militants of its forces to work with Syrian Democratic Forces in Syria.

McNulty has said the only mission in Syria is to defeat the Islamic State, adding the United States is still fully committed to the fight and will keep its military presence in northeastern Syria and around “Al-Tanaf” base in southeastern Syria, according to what was reported by the website specialized in military and security issues “Defense One”.

She continued: “The international coalition to defeat ISIS led by the United States, keeps working through forces of local partners, including Syrian Democratic Forces.”

The former US President, Donald Trump, decided, in October 2019, to withdraw US forces from the areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces in northeastern Syria.

The international coalition forces own 28 bases and sites in Syria, 17 of which are in Al-Hasakah Governorate, 9 in Deir ez-Zor, and two bases in the “Al-Tanf” border area with Iraq and Jordan in the eastern countryside of Homs.
