Defending his position in Afghanistan, Biden asserts that the chaos caused by the Taliban is inevitable

Defending the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, US President Joe Biden said, “The chaos I witnessed with the Taliban taking control was inevitable.”

This came in an interview with him on the American television network ABC, during which he stressed that the situation could not be dealt with better than that, but the idea that there is a way out without causing chaos, Ido not know how this happens”

“What exactly happened now I didn’t take into account,” Biden added. “One of the things we didn’t know was what the Taliban would do in terms of trying to keep people out.”

He explained, “The Taliban cooperate and let the Americans out,” but noted difficulties in transferring “who helped us when we were there,” noting that “we have to control this. We have to move more quickly. We have to move in a way that we can take control of that airport (Kabel). And we did that.”

He considered that people falling off the plane “was just a simple choice… When you had the government of Afghanistan, the head of that government, he boarded a plane and went to another country, and I saw the great collapse of the Afghan forces that we trained, 300,000 of them left their equipment and took off.”

Biden continued, “Americans should understand that we will try to get this done before August 31,” before adding, “If there are American citizens, we will stay to get them all.”

He concluded, “The violent attacks in Afghanistan have been temporarily halted, in recent months, due to the agreement concluded by the administration of former President Donald Trump withTaliban leaders.

Nor have there been attacks since the signing of the agreement because Trump agreed to the final withdrawal from Afghanistan, by May 1, in exchange for not attacking American forces.
