SNHR documents the killing of thousands of civilians under torture in the Assad regime prisons

The Syrian Network for Human Rights has documented in a report that thousands of civilians have been killed under torture, most of them at the hands of Assad regime since the start of the revolution in Syria in March 2011.

The network said in its report that at least 14,506 people were killed under torture at the hands of the Assad regime forces, including 180 children and 92 women, since March 2011 until now.

The network confirmed in its report that these practices are a tactic used by the Assad regime, with the aim of torturing detainees and making them suffer from various types of diseases, and then deliberately neglecting their treatment after that.

It should be noted that the network documented 72 methods of physical, psychological and sexual torture among the methods used by the Assad regime forces in its detention centers, prisons and military hospitals.
