32 deaths and 1,512 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in northwest Syria

The Early Warning Network recorded in its latest statistics on September 19, 2021, 32 deaths and 1,512 new infections with Corona virus in northwestern Syria, bringing the number of recorded deaths to 1003 and the number of infections to 61,586.

The network indicated that the recorded deaths due to Corona, including a 20-day-old baby, and a 17-year-old woman in the third trimester of pregnancy.

The network indicated that among the infections are 21 cases of health sector workers, including (a doctor, a pharmacist, 9 nurses, 2 midwives, and 3 technicians), and 167 cases of displaced people inside the camps, noting that the daily rate of positivity reached (56%).

The network stated that 534 of the new cases were recorded in Aleppo countryside (358 Afrin, 41 Jabal Samaan, 78 Azaz, 53 al-Bab, 4 Jarabulus), and Idlib Governorate recorded 978 infections(110 Ariha, 373 Harem, 405 in Idlib, 90 in Jisr al-Shughur). ).

The network recorded 720 cases of recovery, 339 of which were recorded in the countryside of Aleppo (154 Afrin, 6 Jabal Samaan, 142 al-Bab, 37 Azaz), and 381 were recorded in Idlib governorate (10 Ariha, 103 Harem, 266 Idlib, 2 Jisr al-Shughur), bringing the number of cases Total recovery to 32066 cases.

And the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning Network Program indicated that it conducted 2,696 analyzes of the Corona virus, bringing the number of analyzes it conducted to 250,682 in northern Syria.

Yesterday, Monday, humanitarian organizations operating in northwestern Syria warned of the approaching collapse of the health sector in the region due to the outbreak of the Corona virus and the arrival of the pandemic to its climax.

The statement indicated that the current wave of the Corona virus in northwestern Syria has reached a dangerous level, as reports indicate that the pandemic has reached uncontrolled with a limited ability of the health sector to control it.

The statement pointed out that what makes the situation worse is that a number of health personnel are infected with the virus and stop working, which paralyzes the health system, and that the simplest diseases will become a cause of death due to the lack of medical personnel.

The campaign to vaccinate people with chronic diseases, the elderly, health and humanitarian workers against the Corona virus continues, in the liberated areas in northwestern Syria, under the supervision of the Syria Vaccine Team, and it was launched on the morning of Saturday, May 1, 2021.
