Yesterday, Tuesday, Bashar al-Assad appointed “Muhammad Essam Hazima” as governor of the Central Bank of Syria, a week after the dismissal of his former president, Hazem Karfoul.

The new governor of the Central Bank of Syria held the position of second governor for the period from 2018 to 2021, and he is an academic who holds a doctorate in business law in e-commerce and a master’s in economic law, and he is also a lecturer at both Damascus University and the Higher Levant Institute.
